Year 8 and 9 got to see a performance by the up and coming band ‘In Hindsight’. The band is currently doing a tour in schools, to encourage young people to make better decisions in life. Cyber bullying was one of the key topics and students expressed they really enjoyed it!

This week has seen the launch of the PPS anti-bullying wristbands. The idea came from the anti-bullying group and its slogan ‘CTRL + ALT + DELETE BULLYING’ (suggested by Alex Harding-Roots in year 8) was voted by a majority. It is great to see so many of the kids wanting to take a clear stand away from bullying. At the back of the wristband you can also find the newly set up email address ‘stopbullying@portland-place.co.uk’ – another suggestion brought forward by the anti-bullying group. It aims to encourage students to come forward with any problem regarding bullying they may have.

Year 8s posing with the anti-bullying wristbands. CTRL + ALT + DELETE BULLYING!

On Monday 10th March 2014, year 8 and 9 got to see the X Factor band, “Brick City”. The performance lasted for about an hour and included songs and talks in between songs, about life skills and drug education. Both year 8 and 9 students seemed to enjoy their visit! Below are some of the year 8 girls with the band.
